Wellbeing Volunteers

Welcome to MyLothian Our Community

Wellbeing Volunteers

We’d like to introduce you to our Wellbeing Volunteers who are here to offer a safe and confidential space to chat about anything that’s worrying you.

The volunteers, made up of Lothian colleagues from across the business, are there to listen in confidence and without judgement. Some already have experience of helping others when they’ve found themselves in a difficult situation or have worked with people struggling with their mental wellbeing.

Jackie Findlay

I’m Jackie and I’ve been at Lothian since 2018.

In my spare time I coach football and enjoy running. Keeping active is a great way of helping your mental wellbeing.

I’m easy to talk to and a compassionate listener, so if anyone has an issue they’d like to discuss, please pop up!

Elaine Green

Hello! I’m Elaine and I work in the Sales Department at Lothian. I have been with the company over 20 years.

Outside of work I enjoy taking our crazy puppy for long walks and watching my boys race motorbikes.

I volunteered for the scheme as know how important chatting can be – sometimes it’s easier to speak to someone you don’t know that well and don’t see often.

I am happy to offer a caring ear in total confidence to anyone who needs it.

Graeme Healy

My name is Graeme and I work at the Training School.

I’ve been working with Lothian for nearly 16 years and I enjoy a good laugh with my colleagues. I feel this helps me to keep my own spirits up, as well as others around me.

If anyone has any issues, I’m always willing to listen and discuss them.

Pip Herbert

Hello, my name is Pip and I’ve been a driver at Lothian for over 5 years now.

I’ve suffered with mental health issues since my teenage years and would love to help anyone experiencing problems in their own life.

I’m studying COSCA Counselling Skills, and I’m extremely accepting, non-judgemental and genuine. I’ll always do my best to help anyone who needs it.

Anything we do discuss will be treated with confidentiality.

June Myles

Hi, I’m June and I’ve been at Lothian for just over three years now.

I volunteered for this group because of my previous career in social care working with adults with disabilities and challenging behaviour.

Helping people is in my nature and although I can be a right chatterbox once I get started, I’m a great listener too! I love spending time with my family, going long walks or getting out on my motorbike. Recently I’ve got into comic books and sci-fi.

I’m here for everyone who feels like they want to chat over any issues they may be having.

Lindsey Shanley

My name is Lindsey and I’ve been at Lothian for 8 years after previously serving in the Army as a Driver in the Royal Logistic Corps for 7 years.

Currently I work within the Control Room but I previously worked as a driver. I use my love of cycling as a way of keeping active and for my mental health. I also have a Boston Terrier Called Roxy who is our little fur baby & I am married to Nadine who is a driver at Marine Garage.

I have a passion about mental health and would love to help anyone who feels they need support.

Olivia Sklenar

Hi, I’m Olivia, but you can call me Livv! I’m the Accessibility and Inclusion Officer at Lothian.

My role is to listen to our customers, especially those most vulnerable and support them in using our services. I would love to offer the same listening ear to my colleagues and help build a more supportive and understanding work environment.

I work Monday-Wednesday and I’ll always be available for anyone who wants to have a chat about their wellbeing.

Cheryl Ait Dada Aalla

Cheryl Ait Dada-Aalla

Hi I’m Cheryl I’m a driver at Marine. I enjoy eating out and chilling.

I became a wellbeing volunteer as I have had mental health issues myself.

I would be happy to talk to any colleague from any garage as I’m very approachable.

Dale Kerr

I’m Dale and am a driver at Central Garage – to relax I enjoy watching sport and running. I’m really excited to be joining the Wellbeing Volunteers.

While still relatively new to Lothian, I was a mental health first aider and wellbeing lead in my previous organisation so fully appreciate how much of a difference this resource and talking with someone can make.

I’m here if anyone ever wants to chat about anything whether you see me in person in the garage or through email, more than comfortable with both.

John Davies

John Davies

My name is John and I currently work at the West End TravelHub, covering on the Traffic Desk.

My hobbies include fly fishing and motorcycling.

I became a wellbeing volunteer as I feel that my life experiences have shown me that things are not always as bad as they may seem.

My ability to listen to others and understand issues that affect us all is something that can help. A friendly ear and signposting in the right direction made a huge difference to myself and if I can help others in the same way I feel I have given something back to those who helped me.

Liam Kinnaird

Liam Kinnaird

Hi I’m Liam, I am currently on secondment at Edinburgh Bus Tours from Lothian Country.

I’ve been with the company since April 2023 and I became a Wellbeing Volunteer because of my own experiences with mental health issues.

I enjoy long drives and a good cup of coffee.

If you need advice or just a friendly chat, don’t be afraid to approach me. You can usually find me floating around Waterloo place or in the canteen.

Sharon Pyke

Sharon Pyke

Hi, my name is Sharon Pyke. I’m a Driver at Longstone Garage and have proudly served as a Bus Driver with Lothian for approximately 8 years, with 16 years of total service.

As a Wellbeing Volunteer, I am committed to fostering a healthy, happy, and supportive environment for all our colleagues.

My goal is to ensure everyone feels valued and has access to the resources they need to thrive both personally and professionally. Together, we can build a culture of well-being and positivity.
